Wales v Belgium. Gareth Bale has a lot of confidence in this Euro 2016 match against Belgium which will define whether Wales gets through to quarterfinal.
If Wales are eliminated by Belgium on Friday night, they
will go home as heroes, but Gareth Bale has no intention of doing that. This is
the most important football match for Wales since 1958, and Bale has cleared
his schedule until the final at the Stade de France on Sunday July 10.
Belgium could be favorites for the quarterfinals in
Lille, but Bale has full confidence in his team. After a win and a draw against
Belgium in qualifying, Bale believes Wales are the Belgians' "bete
noire" and they know how to beat Marc Wilmots talented but erratic side.
At the start of the campaignn to qualify for Euro 2016,
in November 2014, Wales went to Brussels and won a hard-fought 0-0, with the
bullet that carries the line by itself.
Bale scored the only goal in a 1-0 win, one of the
decisive moments in Chris Coleman, four and a half year tenure as coach of
Wales. This improvement has led them all the way to the quarterfinals of the
European Championship, which is why Bale hopes his team has a psychological
advantage over their opponents more accomplished.
But having beaten Belgium in that emotional night in
Cardiff just over a year. The Belgians will be without Barcelona defender
Thomas Vermalen, suspended, and everything points to that place will be
occupied by Jordan Lukaku, younger brother of striker Romelu Lukako, which is
expected to be in the starting lineup.
But the great Belgian mystery lies in the physical state
of Hazard, 26, played in the quadriceps of his left leg in the round match
against Austria and doubt for tomorrow's match at the Stade Pierre-Mauroy
Lille, border city with Belgium.
